Under the Stone Paw by Theresa Crater

A forgotten family legacy. Six crystal keys. One shot at unlocking the secrets beneath the Sphinx.

Literary Times

“Sheds light on many interesting historical figures and moments, including the well-known Illuminati, the Freemasons or the Rosicrucian Order and many more. I recommend it.”

Book Sense

”Myth, magic, prophecy, adventure and romance described with poetic rigour, and this hardly refers to what you’ll find among these pages. From the first to the last, I was captivated by the narrative, the story and the drama.”

USA Today

”This book will catch you, entertain you and give you much to think about. The author is based on her own experience, studies and extensive research to tell this story rich in esotericism. It’s captivating.”

Anne Le Clair, a successful, young attorney, has managed to remain free from her family’s gothic past—until now. When she inherits her murdered Aunt’s antique necklace however, she finds no escape from its secrets. Under the Stone Paw is a thrill ride from the upper crust of New York society to the forbidden tunnels underneath the Sphinx, from a time before Jesus and Mary Magdalene sought to free humanity to our own time when a shadowy consortium of powerful individuals threaten to control it.

Katherine Kurtz, the author of the Adept series, says “One of the best esoteric novels of the past decade. Crater knows her way around Egypt and its mysteries. Evil Illuminati, ancient artefacts, and conspiracies abound. Surpasses The Da Vinci Code.”

Payback by Geoff Palmer

Solikha Duong lives the carefree life of a village girl in northern Cambodia until her world is torn apart by “truck men” from Thailand. But Solikha is tough, resourceful, and won’t give up without a fight.

Alice Kwann is on vacation when she’s attacked by thugs at a stopover in northern Nevada. But Alice too is tough, resourceful, and won’t give up without a fight.

What binds these women is a shocking secret and a desire for revenge.

Payback is an unforgettable story of courage, survival and vigilante justice. Because sometimes your past won’t let you go.

Gritty, suspenseful, page-turning action, this new novel from critically acclaimed writer Geoff Palmer lifts the lid on a shocking trade and introduces a character every bit as dangerous as Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, as troubled as Paul Cleave’s Private Detective Theodore Tate, and as uncompromising as Neil Cross’s DCI John Luther.

Praise for Payback

While there is much that is shocking in Payback, there is also much that is hopeful – built in main around the central character – a strong, sympathetic and complex female protagonist who is not adverse to a bit of action hero fighting into the bargain.

From the Author

Jane Child took over my life.

One morning I sat down to write a new novel. I decided to try something different. For years I’d read about writers like Lee Child and Ian Rankin who sit down at a blank screen and say to themselves, “I wonder what Jack Reacher / Inspector Rebus is up to today …” and just start typing.

I couldn’t possibly do that, I’d told myself. So just once, just for fun, I tried it. No prep, no planning. I simply sat down and started writing.

And Jane was there. Right from the very first word. It was weird, eerie and remarkable.

Over the next seven weeks, I learned a lot more about Jane. She had me hooked on her situation and her story. I couldn’t wait to get back to my desk each day to find out what would happen next.

I finished the book in a white heat. Convinced it must be rubbish, I printed out a copy and threw it in a drawer.

Months later, I took it out again, gritted my teeth, and had another look, braced for badness. But it wasn’t bad. In fact, it was bloody good. It had me glued to the text and turning the pages – and I’d written it!

So after a couple of quick revisions, still a bit dazed at what I’d done, I tried it on my indomitable beta readers – and they loved it too!

So here she is Jane Child. What do you think …?

Geoff Palmer is an award-winning author and journalist based in Wellington, New Zealand. He has since written a sequel to Private Viewing. It’s called Private Lives. And he reckons Jane Child’s not done with him yet …
